Professors reveal the secrets to getting an A+

We asked 3 professors to tell us the secret to getting an A+

"A lot of times, student focus on getting high grades at the end of every term that they forget that the final grade is merely the cumulative of every assignment they had to do throughout the term. It sounds intuitive — but it’s true, a lot of students forget this. If you want to get an A+ on your final grade, make sure you get an A to every assignment. Every single assignment. Not just the final paper or the final exam. That's the formula".

-Dr. Lauren Alcala-Swims

"I wish there’s a secret formula but it really is about hard work. It’s about missing a birthday party to do a research paper or a really fun frat event to study for midterms. If getting high grades were easy, it wouldn’t be impressive — right?

When you get a high grade, people are not literally impressed by how high the number 96 is, people are impressed with the hard work and discipline it must have taken you to get that score". -James Herritt

"Obviously, every professor would have very different standards and it is impossible to navigate all of these standards with one formula. There would be students who would just be incompatible with the pedagogy or the teaching style of a certain professor — I am afraid it is one of the biggest gaps in the education sector that is no nowhere near a resolution. So if you are studying, study not only the academic material but also the teaching style of your professor. That would give you a clue on what kind of topics he would be impressed with, what kind of questions he will ask on the final exam, all these sorts of thing.

So yes, I’m afraid getting an A+ isn’t as easy as studying hard". -Dr. Jacinta Aragon
