Junior to Senior Nurse
I decided to pursue a master’s degree in nursing after working 6 months at a junior yard. In our hospital, a master’s degree means promotion, higher pay, and better hours, but squeezing papers and exams to my already hectic schedule was hard. It was hard to juggle work, school, and being a single mom. Between doing and being all of these- my performance at school suffered. I had to retake a couple of classes and it frustrated me. Giving this a try was my absolute last resort, but it was definitely worth it. I got my MA degree and I got my promotion 3 months later. I just studied the materials at my own time and pace without worrying about deadlines.
